    CD # Matthew Jay – Draw [] Oh God. I’ve barely touched this album since his tragic death in , especially not when my favourite song is called You’re Always Going Too Soon. I guess it’s pretty ironic that Jay’s debut was most often compared to Nick Drake and Elliott Smith, and we know what the three of them have in common.

    Matthew Jay's family released a commemorative CD, "Matthew Jay too soon" in July on the Jays Music label. It comprises his rarities and demos, which were no longer available to his fans. "Matthew Jay too soon" is still available as downloads from itunes.

    I've been a fan of the late Matthew Jay's music since hearing "Meteorology" on a Parlophone sampler in , and consider "Draw" to be one of the finest debut CDs of all time. Having diligently collected up all the 'B' sides (and then got them all again on "Too Soon") I was always going to buy "Further than tomorrow" - the long-rumoured /5(4).

    The man's debut Draw has all the hallmarks of a low-key classic, paying attention to emotive turns while stringing together fragmented romantic notions to sum up a highly tuneful album. After all, Jay's music is far from the usual mumbling lo-fi/5(9).
