  Oct 10,  · Astral Weeks Live is magical. Proof of Van’s mastery. Stunning renditions of every track, each one better than its counterpart on the studio version to my ears. Beside You, Sweet Thing, Cyprus Avenue and Ballerina are transcendent but selecting songs individually seems a little wrongheaded when presented with a suite like this.

  Of course, “Astral weeks” did not sell – and Warner Brothers did not get that coveted hit singe. They had signed Van Morrison on the back of “Brown Eyed Girl”. But since , “Astral Weeks” has gained a reputation as being one of the greatest records ever made .
