  The album was named after the song "Ballad of Easy Rider", which had been written by McGuinn (with help from Bob Dylan) as the theme song for the film "Easy Rider". It’s one of the best album’s by later-day Byrds, and the first where the new line-up really hit it .

  One of the best albums of the Byrds, of course, anyone who disagrees must be deaf or does not appreciate the band. One of the two covers of Neil Young,''See The Sky About The Rain'' is better than the original, coming from the On The Beach album.
